Morus (mulberry) bonsai, a deciduous fruit-bearing species, prized for its natural appearance, ease of cultivation, fine branching, and the presence of leaves and small decorative fruits that enhance its ornamental value. The foliage is a deep green during spring and summer, takes on warm shades ranging from yellow to golden in autumn, and is bare in winter. Spring flowering is modest, with small, inconspicuous greenish flowers, followed by the production of its characteristic fruits: small blackberries that ripen between late spring and summer, changing from green to red before turning purplish or black when fully ripe. Grown in a rectangular, cream-glazed stoneware pot, it creates an elegant contrast with the bright green of the leaves and the colour of the fruit, making the bonsai a sophisticated decorative feature for both indoors and outdoors.
