Carmona macrophylla – Tea plant – 26 cm
A Carmona macrophylla bonsai, measuring 21 cm in height (excluding the pot) and with a trunk diameter of 1.5 cm. The plant is grown in an oval glazed stoneware pot measuring 17x10xH5 cm.
Bonsai are living organisms and each one is unique, so the plant you receive will be similar to, but not identical to, the one shown in the photograph. The height may vary as the plant grows.
The size, colour and shape of the pot may vary depending on availability.
This Carmona macrophylla (tea plant) bonsai, an evergreen houseplant, is prized for the small, star-shaped white flowers it produces in spring and summer. Its foliage, with glossy, compact leaves, is well-structured and gives it a refined appearance. It features an inverted broom style (Hokidachi) and is grown on rock (Seki-joju), in which a well-developed and well-proportioned trunk supports an orderly branching pattern, whilst clinging to the stone to evoke the plant’s strength and ability to adapt to harsh environments. The oval, blue-glazed stoneware pot helps to emphasise the bonsai’s aesthetic, creating a subtle contrast with the intense green of the leaves.
From fall to spring, when the temperature drops below 13°-15°C, place the bonsai indoors less than 1 meter from a window, unshielded by curtains. From spring to fall, place it outdoors in partial shade.
Always respect the dry and wet cycles: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water abundantly. Then wait for the soil to dry before watering again in the same way.
